From this week philosopher Alain de Botton and art historian John Armstrong will be showing the Rijksmuseum what art can mean to visitors. Focusing on the therapeutic effects that art can have and the big questions it can answer. Throughout the newly reopened Rijksmuseum are placed giant post-it style notes offering guidance on how we might think about the works of art on display and how they might help us to answer some of life's big questions. The exhibition runs until September but if you're not planning a visit to the Netherlands this summer, you'll be pleased to know there's a new postcard book just out, which features a selection of works from the show along with guidance on how they might help us with problems like: I can't cope; I'm fed up with celebrity culture; I can't afford nice things and I wish my job were more creative.

Art as Therapy postcard books are available from the usual polite stockists and online here
