Here at Polite, creativity is what drives us. It allows us to experience the world in a more interesting way, by turning imaginative ideas into reality. It's the thing that makes the universe exist and it's engrained into every part of our being.

The modern world can sometimes make it difficult for us to be truly creative. We are bombarded with more information than ever before, making our brains busier and the chitter-chatter in our head louder and more distracting. Our mobile phones allow us to constantly multi-task; we can scroll through our social-media feed as we travel to our next meeting or chat to our loved ones as we're doing our weekly food shop. But how often do we stop for a moment, to observe the simple things, calm the chatter in our head and allow creativity to flow?

We have decided to dedicate June to exploring creativity. What makes someone creative? How can we feed our imagination and develop new ways of thinking?

We have a brand new group of creativity-enhancing products that we will explore in detail. We will also pick our favourite books, quotes and general day-to-day goings on that inspire originality in some way!

To start with, here is one of our favourite TedTalks from the brilliant Elizabeth Gilbert.

In the words of Albert Einstein, "Creativity is a drug, pass it on" - And that is exactly what we intend to do!
